description
White acorn squash, sweet and perfect for purée
Winter squash “Mashed Potatoes” ( Cucurbita pepo ), offered by OSC Seeds
A unique winter squash that reinvents the classic acorn: its outer skin is white , its ribs are deeply ridged , and its white flesh, sweet and creamy, evokes the texture of mashed potatoes . Each compact plant produces 3 to 4 fruits of approximately 680 g , perfect for roasting, stuffing, halving, or mashing, as their name suggests. An original, flavorful, and highly decorative variety.
Propagation: Indoor sowing or direct sowing in late spring
Height/growth habit: Compact vines
Package size: Approximately 15 seeds
Harvest time: 90 days
Frost tolerance: Killed by frost
Companion plants: Corn, beans, nasturtiums

Planting and maintenance:
Plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. Sow directly when the soil is warm, or start seeds indoors 2 to 3 weeks before planting out. Compact vines require moderate space but good air circulation. Water deeply but not soggy. Harvest when the skin is firm and white, then allow to dry for a few days before storing to prolong preservation.
