Introduced in 1913 , this heirloom variety is one of the most popular acorn squashes, especially for Thanksgiving meals. The dark green fruits, about 15 cm in diameter, have pale yellow flesh that is sweet and very sugary , particularly delicious when roasted . Productive and reliable, it is also an excellent winter storeer , maintaining its quality well in storage.

Planting and maintenance:
Sow indoors 2 to 3 weeks before the last frost or directly when the soil is warm. Plant in full sun in rich, loose, well-drained soil. Water deeply but not excessively to prevent rotting. Allow space for the vines to spread. Harvest when the husk is hard and the color is well developed. Store in a cool, dry place for long winter storage.
