Populus deltoides ‘Siouxland’
Populus deltoides ‘Siouxland’, known as the ‘Siouxland’ cottonwood, is a very fast-growing deciduous tree, selected for its broad pyramidal habit, dark green foliage that turns golden yellow in autumn, and especially for its lack of cottony seeds, which makes it particularly clean in urban environments. Ideal as a shade tree, windbreak, or street tree, it provides dense shade in a short time and contributes to biodiversity by attracting various insects and birds. It thrives in sunny exposures and fresh to moist soils, adapting to a wide variety of conditions. Very hardy, ‘Siouxland’ is often used in large-scale developments, while being low-maintenance. Its vigor makes it an excellent choice for stabilization, reforestation, or naturalization projects.
