description
The Scotch Bonnet Cream pepper is a rare and spectacular variety of Capsicum chinense , known for its unusual cream-colored fruit and intensely fruity aroma. This variant differs from classic Scotch Bonnet peppers in its ivory hue when ripe and sometimes a more pronounced heat.
The fruits have the typical Scotch Bonnet shape, resembling a small cap or flattened hat. Some may develop a small point or "tail" at the base. The flavor is rich and fruity, with a fast, powerful heat reminiscent of very strong habaneros.
The plants are vigorous and can grow to over 1.5 meters tall, producing an abundance of fruit. This chili pepper is particularly prized in Caribbean and West African cuisines, where it adds a vibrant heat and distinctive aroma to dishes.
