Thor's Thunderbolt chili pepper is a rare and spectacular variety originating from Australia, developed by breeders Rebecca Johnston and Trevor Griffiths. This variety immediately attracts attention thanks to its highly tormented appearance and its elongated, wrinkled fruits, reminiscent of a lightning bolt, which is how it got its name.
The fruits exhibit a remarkable color evolution. They change from green to a deep purple or mauve, then ripen to a very distinctive cream to peach hue. The plant's dark foliage further accentuates the decorative contrast of this variety.
Despite its ornamental appearance, this chili pepper is extremely hot. Its intense heat is accompanied by a fruity and slightly sweet flavor, making it an excellent choice for hot sauces and spicy dishes.
