description
Organic Orange Pepper ‘Etiuda’ (Capsicum annuum) is a productive, bright annual variety grown for its beautiful Bell-type fruits that mature from green to vivid orange. Its thick, crisp, juicy, and naturally sweet flesh makes it a very pleasant sweet pepper to enjoy fresh or cooked. The vigorous plant reaches approximately 60 to 75 cm (24 to 30 in) in height and brings strong presence to the vegetable garden, with colorful fruits that contrast beautifully against green foliage. Its white summer flowers add subtle interest before developing into an abundant, flavorful, and decorative harvest.
Organic Orange Pepper ‘Etiuda’ should be sown indoors from February to April, about 8 to 10 weeks before the last expected frost in Canada. Seeds germinate best in warmth, between 24 and 30°C (75 to 86°F), in a light, fertile, well-drained growing mix. After hardening off, transplant seedlings into full sun once all risk of frost has passed, in organic-rich, slightly acidic to neutral, well-drained soil. Maintain consistent moisture without waterlogging, especially during flowering and fruiting. Organic mulch and balanced fertilization encourage fleshy, well-colored, high-quality fruits.
In the garden, Organic Orange Pepper ‘Etiuda’ is ideal for family vegetable gardens, edible gardens, and large 15 to 20 L (4 to 5 gal) containers on sunny patios. It grows well alongside tomatoes, eggplants, carrots, onions, and peas, while avoiding proximity to beans and fennel whenever possible. Its small white flowers attract bees and other pollinating insects, supporting regular fruiting and vegetable garden biodiversity. Harvest fruits about 75 days after transplanting, once they reach their full orange color, then use them in salads, grilled dishes, stir-fries, stuffed peppers, or vegetable platters.
