Pyrus communis 'Harrow Crisp' is a Canadian-bred pear variety known for its exceptional resistance to fire blight and its ability to produce superior fruit. Its medium- to large-sized pears feature greenish-yellow skin with an attractive red blush. The flesh is white, fine-grained, juicy, and sweet, offering a pleasant, mild flavor. Harvested in late summer, this pear is ideal for fresh eating, baking, and canning. 'Harrow Crisp' is self-fertile, but production is enhanced in the presence of another compatible variety. Its spring blooms attract pollinators, and its vigor and disease tolerance make it a good choice for home orchards. This cultivar is adapted to temperate climates and prefers full sun exposure with well-drained soil.
