The Rosa rugosa ‘Therese Bugnet’ is an exceptionally hardy shrub rose, resulting from a complex cross including Rosa rugosa, valued for its robustness and four-season interest. It forms a vigorous shrub with an upright, dense habit, remarkable for its decorative purple-red stems in winter. Its large, double, delicately fragrant lilac-pink flowers appear in abundance from early summer until autumn. Its crinkled green foliage, typical of rugosas, turns a beautiful yellow at the end of the season before giving way to decorative red rose hips. Highly tolerant of poor soils, wind, and intense cold, Rosa rugosa ‘Therese Bugnet’ is perfectly suited for informal hedges, naturalistic landscaping, and Nordic gardens in full sun.
