Schizophragma hydrangeoides ‘Roseum’, commonly known as ‘Roseum’ climbing hydrangea, is a deciduous woody vine with a vigorous climbing habit, ideal for adorning walls, fences, and tree trunks in light shade. Related to climbing hydrangeas, it clings with adventitious roots and, over time, forms a dense screen of dark green, heart-shaped, and slightly textured foliage. In early summer, it produces large flat inflorescences composed of small fertile flowers surrounded by decorative pale to soft pink bracts, bringing a gentle and luminous touch to shaded areas. Very hardy and durable, Schizophragma hydrangeoides ‘Roseum’ prefers rich, cool, well-drained soil and thrives particularly in partial shade, offering a spectacular effect in cold climate gardens.
