Spiraea thunbergii, commonly known as Thunberg's spiraea, is a deciduous shrub with a graceful, finely branched, and slightly arching habit, renowned for its very early and abundant flowering. From early spring, before or as its foliage appears, its branches are covered with a multitude of small, pure white flowers arranged along the stems, creating a spectacular cloud-like effect. Its narrow, linear foliage, light green in spring then medium green in summer, turns beautiful orange-yellow to coppery-red hues in autumn. Light and elegant, Spiraea thunbergii is ideal for mass planting, informal hedges, or naturalized plantings. Undemanding, it prefers well-drained soil and a sunny exposure to ensure optimal flowering and vigorous growth.
