Yellow sweet pepper 'Bell D'Asti' (Capsicum annuum), offered by the seed company Weston Seeds

The yellow sweet pepper 'Bell D'Asti' (or Quadrato Giallo D'Asti) is a classic Italian Bell variety, perfect for stuffing thanks to its enormous 5-6 inch (12-15 cm) fruits. These meaty peppers ripen from green to bright yellow and offer a sweet, delicious flavor. Disease resistant and very productive, this pepper adapts well to a variety of growing conditions and produces generous yields.

Days to maturity : 75 to 80 days after transplanting
Fruit size : 5 to 6 inches
Height : 18 to 24 inches
Spacing : 12 to 14 inches
Sowing : Indoor sowing
Exposure : Full sun
Quantity per pack : untreated, non-GMO seeds

Cultivation method:

Start seedlings indoors between mid-February and late March in a soilless growing mix. Sow seeds 1/4" (6 mm) deep and maintain a constant temperature of 70°F (21°C) for optimum germination. Grow seedlings in bright light at temperatures of 60-70°F (16-21°C) to produce stocky, vigorous plants.

After hardening off, transplant outdoors in late May to early June in well-drained soil in full sun. Space plants 12" (30 cm) apart in rows 24" (60 cm) apart. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilizers, which promote leaf growth at the expense of fruit. Staking is recommended to support plants under the weight of the peppers. Harvest at different stages of maturity to experience a range of flavors and textures.

A versatile and generous pepper!

The 'Bell D'Asti' pepper is ideal for gardeners looking for a sweet and productive variety. With its impressive size and ability to adapt to different conditions, it will be an asset to your vegetable garden and kitchen.
