Cultivation method

Red oak leaf lettuce grows in full sun or partial shade in light, well-drained soil enriched with compost . Sow directly into the ground as soon as the soil warms in spring, or start seedlings indoors 4 to 6 weeks before transplanting . Sow 0.5 cm deep , in rows 20 to 25 cm apart, then thin the young plants to 15 cm to encourage their development. Regular watering , especially in hot weather, ensures tender leaves and prevents bolting. Harvest by cutting leaf by leaf or by cutting the entire rosette , allowing new growth for a continuous harvest.
