The large, double and semi-double flowers of Sunflower 'The Joker' measure between 15 and 20 cm in diameter. Their unique design features two concentric rings – one orange-red and the other yellow – for a dramatic effect. Ideal for adding a touch of originality to your borders or bouquets, this sunflower reaches an impressive height of 2 metres.

Cultivation method:
Easy to grow. Sow directly into the ground in late May, 6-12mm deep and space seeds 7.5-10cm apart. Once seedlings have emerged, thin or transplant to maintain spacing of 30-45cm.
For an early start, sow indoors 2 to 3 weeks before the last frost date. Use peat pots or Jiffy 7s, maintaining a temperature of 70°F (21°C). Harden off seedlings before transplanting to a sunny site. Water regularly and fertilize twice during the season with a 15-5-15 granular fertilizer or equivalent. Germination occurs in 5 to 10 days.
