Thuja occidentalis, or white cedar, is a native conifer with a naturally conical and dense habit, widely used for evergreen hedges, windbreaks, or background plantings. Its bright green scale-like foliage, arranged in aromatic flattened sprays, retains its color all year round, sometimes developing bronze hues in winter. Very hardy, it tolerates pruning well, as well as various soil types and sunny to semi-shaded exposures. Its moderate growth and naturally structured form make it a reliable and durable species, ideal both as a specimen plant and in mass plantings. Thuja occidentalis combines resilience, longevity, and adaptability, perfect for creating a persistent plant structure in the garden.
