Plant in full sun, in well-prepared, rich, and deeply loosened soil, ideally 30 cm deep , with a generous addition of compost or well-rotted manure. At planting time, adding a general-purpose fertilizer will promote good establishment.
Transplant the plants, respecting a spacing of 45 to 60 cm between plants and 90 cm between rows to ensure good aeration and harmonious development.
Growing tips
Tomatoes tolerate a wide range of fertile, well-drained soils, but they require consistent moisture to produce plump, flavorful fruit. Avoid overwatering, however, as this can dilute the flavor and negatively impact fruit quality. A warm, sunny location is essential for abundant, ripe harvests.
Harvest
Harvest the fruits as they ripen, when they are well-colored and slightly soft to the touch. Before the first frosts, the plants can be lifted by the roots and hung indoors to allow the last fruits to ripen slowly. Classic, generous, and flavorful , the 'Beefsteak' tomato remains a garden staple for abundant and delicious summer harvests.
