The 'San Marzano Lampadina 2' tomato is an Italian heirloom treasure, renowned for its 4-6 oz. elongated red fruits that are perfect for canning or making sauces and pastes. Cultivation method:

Preparation and sowing:

  • Ideal pH : 6.0 to 6.8.
  • Plant in fertile, well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Amend with finished compost, manure and 1 cup of balanced organic fertilizer under each transplant.
  • Sow seeds 5mm-1cm (¼-½?) deep. Keep seedlings in bright light to prevent them from spreading too far.
  • If necessary, repot several times to encourage root growth before final transplanting.

Transplanting indeterminate vines :

  • Space 50-75cm (20-30?) apart in rows 1m (3?) apart.
  • Bury the plants up to the first pair of true leaves to encourage increased root growth.

Interview :

  • Watering : Maintain regular watering, but avoid plants standing in water. Reduce watering at the end of the season to encourage fruit ripening.
  • Supports : Provide a trellis or wire to guide the growth of indeterminate vines.
  • Pollination : Tap the stems to encourage pollination of flowers if plants are grown under cover.

Additional tips:

Fruits should be harvested once they reach their bright red color. Light green tomatoes can ripen indoors, but very dark green ones may not.

'San Marzano Lampadina 2' tomatoes are a fantastic addition to any garden. Their unmatched flavor and culinary versatility will delight Italian food lovers!
