Spring (April to June) , after all risk of frost.

1Choose a sunny location , sheltered from strong winds.
2Prepare a light, well-drained soil , adding compost if necessary.
3Plant the bulbs 10-15 cm deep , point upwards.
4Space the bulbs 10 to 15 cm apart to promote good ventilation.
5Water moderately after planting , then keep the soil moist during growth.
Pot method (perfect for patios and balconies)
1Use a pot at least 30 cm deep with good drainage.
2Fill with a mixture of potting soil and compost .
3Plant the bulbs 10 cm deep , spacing them slightly apart.
4Place in full sun and water regularly without soaking the soil.
Tip : To prolong flowering, plant the bulbs in several waves every two weeks, from May to June!
Maintenance and wintering
Gladiolus is not hardy in cold climates (zones 7 and below).
Two options after flowering :
1In mild climates : Mulch the soil to protect the bulbs in winter.
2In cold climates : Dig up the bulbs after the first frost, let them dry for a few days, then store them in a cool, dry, dark place until the following spring.
Cut off faded flower stems , but leave the foliage in place until it yellows naturally to feed the bulbs.
