From bulb to bloom

‘Amandine Yellow’ ranunculus produces bright yellow double flowers with many rounded petals. It brings a sunny accent to bouquets, containers and small cut-flower plantings. Flowering develops during the growing season after spring planting; each package contains five claws for planting.

In spring, plant outdoors after the local risk of frost has passed, or start the claws in frost-free pots a few weeks earlier. Choose a sunny location and well-drained soil. First soak the claws in room-temperature water for 3–4 hours. Plant with the claws pointing downwards, approximately 5 cm deep and 10 cm apart.

For a clear contrast, combine it with mauve or violet-blue flowers, or soften the display with white. Maintain even moisture during growth and let the foliage yellow naturally at the end of its cycle. Protect it from freezing in cold Canadian regions; keep all parts away from children and pets because the plant is harmful if eaten. Wear gloves if your skin is sensitive to the sap.
