‘Sandia Brocade’ is an anemone-flowered dahlia with broad peach-pink outer petals surrounding a fluffy centre in warm orange and gold tones. Its distinctive shape brings texture to garden borders and cut-flower arrangements. Summer flowering can continue until frost in favourable conditions; each package contains one clump of dahlia tubers for planting.

Plant in spring after the local risk of frost has passed and the soil has warmed. Choose full sun and fertile, well-drained soil, adding compost if needed. Set the tuber clump approximately 10 cm deep with the growing eyes facing upwards, allowing about 50 cm between plants. Install a stake at planting time to support the stems without disturbing the roots later.

Combine this variety with cream or purple flowers to highlight its warm colours and textured centres. Water at soil level to maintain even moisture without waterlogging, and remove spent flowers to encourage more buds. In Canadian regions with freezing winters, lift the tubers after the first light frost blackens the foliage but before the ground freezes, then store them in a cool, frost-free place.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions
