From bulb to bloom

‘Concord Crush’ Siberian iris features double violet-blue flowers with ruffled petals and small yellow markings. Its summer blooms rise above a clump of narrow leaves that remains attractive after flowering. Each package contains one rooted division for planting.

Plant in spring when the ground has thawed, in sun or partial shade. Choose fertile soil rich in organic matter that stays moist but drains well. Spread the roots out in the planting hole and allow about 60 cm between plants. Water after planting and maintain consistent moisture during establishment.

This perennial suits moist borders and the edges of a pond without being planted in the water. Divide clumps when they become crowded and flowering declines. Wear gloves when handling the rhizomes, as the sap can irritate skin; the roots and rhizomes are not edible.
