‘Lady Alexandra Duff’ peony produces large, fragrant double flowers in soft pink that lightens as the blooms open. This perennial forms a generous leafy clump and flowers in late spring or early summer, depending on the region. Each package contains one bare root with two to three eyes, the buds that produce new stems.

Plant in spring in a sunny position with fertile, deep, well-drained soil. Spread the roots and position the eyes upwards, approximately 2.5–5 cm below the soil surface, without burying them more deeply. Allow about 90 cm between plants and water to help them establish. Planting too deeply can prevent flowering.

Install discreet support in spring if the flowers become heavy after rain. Water during dry spells, remove spent blooms and cut back the foliage as it dies in autumn. A newly planted peony may take a few growing seasons to flower generously; avoid moving an established clump unnecessarily.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions
