Adoxaceae

Viburnum opulus ‘Roseum’, often called the snowball viburnum, is an ornamental deciduous shrub prized for its spectacular spring bloom. This sterile selection develops a dense, bushy habit, generally wider than tall with age, forming a rounded mass ideal for beds, informal hedges, and as a specimen plant. In May, large, pure white, globular inflorescences appear in abundance, resembling decorative pom-poms that are very noticeable in the garden. Its bright green, three-lobed foliage turns beautiful reddish hues in autumn, adding extra seasonal interest. As it does not produce fruit due to its sterility, Viburnum opulus ‘Roseum’ concentrates all its energy on a generous bloom. Hardy and adaptable, it prefers well-drained soil and a sunny to partially shaded exposure for optimal performance.
