Vincenza Blue Lavender – An Elegant Touch for Your Garden

Blue lavender seeds from Vincenza (Lavandula officinalis), offered by the OSC seed company.

Vincenza Blue Lavender is a reliable perennial, prized for its fragrant dark blue flowers that attract bees and butterflies. Heat and drought tolerant, it blooms generously throughout the summer and can thrive down to zone 7 without winter protection, or up to zone 5 with adequate protection. Ideal for creating a small informal hedge in warmer regions. Plants reach a height of 30-45 cm.

Spread: 30-45 cm.
Plant height: 30-45 cm.
Quantity per pack: Approximately 20 to 25 seeds/pkt.
Companion plants: Rosemary, sage, thyme.
Enemy plants: Plants requiring moist or clayey soil.

How to Grow:

Sow seeds 3mm deep and 2.5cm apart directly outdoors in well-drained, sunny soil in late May or late August/early September (zone 5 and up). Thin out to 30cm apart once established. Seeds can also be started indoors in a soilless mix 10 weeks before the last frost. Store at 21°C for germination in 14-30 days. After germination, reduce the temperature slightly, harden off the seedlings and transplant outdoors after the risk of frost in spring.

A perfect choice for gardeners looking for a hardy, flowering lavender, ideal for brightening up the garden while attracting pollinators!
