Cultivation method:

Sow directly outdoors after all risk of frost for beautiful flowers 6-8 weeks after sowing. For a quicker start, start seeds indoors in early April. Gently press seeds into the soil without covering them, as they require light to germinate. Maintain a temperature of 20°C (70°F) for rapid germination in 5-10 days.

Grow seedlings under artificial light before hardening them off and transplanting them outdoors in late May, spacing the plants 4 to 7 inches (10 to 18 cm) apart. Giant carnations prefer well-drained soil and a sunny location, but they also tolerate partial shade in areas with hot summers.
