'Matador' spinach (Spinacia oleracea), offered by the seed company Weston Seeds

'Matador' spinach is a vigorous, fast-growing variety producing large, dark green, upright leaves. Tender and flavorful, they are suitable for harvesting both young leaves and mature leaves. Highly heat-tolerant and resistant to bolting, this spinach is ideal for early spring planting as well as late summer planting for autumn harvests.

Height: 15 to 20 cm
Spacing: 23 to 30 cm
Sowing: Indoor or direct sowing
Exposure: Full sun or partial sun / Partial shade
Quantity per packet: 350 to 400 seeds, untreated, non-GMO

Cultivation method:
Sow the seeds 12 mm deep and 2.5 cm apart in rows 30 to 45 cm apart as soon as the soil can be worked in spring. Thin to 5 to 7.5 cm after emergence. For continuous production, repeat sowing every two weeks until the end of spring. Sow again from mid-August to the end of August for autumn crops. Spinach prefers rich, moist soil and requires consistent moisture to prevent premature bolting.

The availability of our seeds varies depending on seasonal availability, production schedules and supplier inventory. Certain varieties may only be offered for a limited time based on their natural growth cycle, sowing period or available stock.
