description
Mixed geranium (Pelargonium spp.), offered by the seed company Weston Seeds
This geranium mix offers a long-lasting summer display of red, pink, and white flowers. These vigorous plants, prized for their compact habit and abundant blooms, brighten flowerbeds, containers, and window boxes all summer long. While they are perennials in warm climates, geraniums are generally grown as annuals in our latitudes to ensure a generous and reliable display of flowers.
Height: 38 to 45 cm
Spacing: 30 to 35 cm
Sowing: Indoor or direct sowing
Exposure: Full sun, Partial sun / Partial shade
Quantity per packet: Untreated, non-GMO seeds
Cultivation method:
Sow directly outdoors once all risk of frost has passed; the plants flower approximately 6 to 8 weeks after sowing. For transplanting, sow the seeds indoors in early April, pressing them lightly into the potting soil without covering them. Germination occurs at around 20°C (68°F) in 5 to 10 days.
Grow indoors, harden off, then transplant outdoors in late May, spacing the plants 30 to 35 cm apart. Geraniums thrive in well-drained soil, in full sun in regions with cool summers or in partial shade in very hot areas. Light pruning after the first flowering encourages a second flush of blooms.
