The 'Thriller' squash is a warm-season crop that requires temperatures between 18 and 27°C . It can be sown indoors 3 to 4 weeks before the last frost , then transplanted to the garden once the risk of frost has passed, or sown directly outdoors when the soil has warmed up.
It prefers warm, fertile, and well-drained soil in full sun . Sow at a depth of about 2.5 cm , in mounds spaced 1.5 to 2 m apart . After germination, thin to two or three vigorous plants per mound. Generous and regular watering , the addition of organic matter , and mulching after planting promote healthy and even growth. In cooler regions, protect young plants with cloches or tunnels at the beginning of the season.
Harvest :
Harvest the fruit when the flower has fallen off the tip and the skin is firm , a sign of full ripeness. A fully ripe squash will keep better and develop its full flavor. Handle with care and store in a dry, well-ventilated place.
Bold, decorative and deliciously indulgent!
With its striking colors, flavorful flesh, and recognition by the AAS 2025 , the 'Thriller' squash is an essential choice for those seeking an exceptional variety. Both ornamental and culinary , it brings originality, flavor, and character to the vegetable garden and the autumn table.
