Cultivation method:
Sow the 'Parade' bunching onion indoors in early April or directly in the garden as soon as the soil can be worked. It prefers rich, fertile soil , whether mineral or organic, kept moist but not waterlogged . An application of fertilizer at the beginning of the growing season , followed by a second application when growth accelerates, promotes vigorous stems.
Space the rows 35 to 38 cm apart. To obtain thicker stems, thin to 3 to 5 cm apart ; the removed seedlings are delicious in salads. Regular watering and full sun ensure even and rapid growth.
Harvest :
Harvesting begins approximately 5 to 6 weeks after sowing, when the stems reach 15 to 20 cm . Harvest by gently pulling on the entire plant . Successive sowings allow for a longer harvest period.
