Vigorous and highly ornamental , 'Scarlet Runner' climbs easily on supports, fences, or trellises , reaching up to 3 m in height . Cultivation method:

The 'Scarlet Runner' climbing bean is sown directly in the garden from mid-May to the end of July , once all risk of frost has passed. The seeds are fragile and require warm soil between 18 and 24°C for good germination. Avoid overly wet soil or sowing too early.

It prefers light, well-drained soil in full sun . Install supports 2.5 to 3 meters high , spaced about 1 meter apart. Sow 5 to 8 seeds per support , then thin to leave only 4 plants . When grown on a trellis, space the plants 15 cm apart. Regular watering , especially during dry weather, is essential to support growth and flowering.

Harvest :

Harvest the pods regularly to encourage continuous production. Pick them when they are still young and tender for best quality. Avoid harvesting after rain or early in the morning to minimize the risk of disease.

Productive, decorative and ideal for vertical gardening!

With its vibrant flowers, remarkable vigor, and flavorful pods, the 'Scarlet Runner' climbing bean is an excellent choice for combining beauty and yield . Easy to grow and perfect for small spaces, it transforms trellises and fences into veritable walls of color and delicious fruit all summer long.
