Farming method

Sow indoors 8 to 10 weeks before the last frost , in a light, well-draining, porous seed-starting mix. Maintain a constant temperature of around 23°C (73°F) . Germination is rapid, usually occurring in 5 to 7 days . Cover the seeds with a thin layer of vermiculite to maintain consistent moisture around the seed; light is not necessary at this stage. The substrate should remain slightly moist, but not soggy.

Growing and transplanting tips

When the young plants are well established, a light pinching can be done to encourage branching and obtain more compact plants.
When transplanting, work the soil to a depth of about 30 cm and incorporate potting soil or organic matter. Carefully remove the plant from its pot, gently loosen the roots if necessary, and then place it in a sufficiently large hole. Adding bone meal or a soil activator at planting time will support root development. Gently firm the soil around the plant and water regularly every 2 to 3 days until well established.

Pelargoniums thrive in warmth and full sun , ideally a south or southwest-facing location. They tolerate drought well, but grow and flower much better with regular watering . When grown in containers, water when the top 1 to 2 cm of soil is dry, being careful not to let the water stagnate.

Flowering and uses

The flowering is abundant and continuous throughout the season, highlighting the dark, contrasting foliage. Bold, elegant, and reliable , the 'Bulls Eye Mix' geranium is a choice variety for creating rich and structured floral arrangements, both in the garden and in pots, with minimal maintenance and maximum visual impact.
