Peppermint ( Mentha x piperita ), offered by the seed company WH Perron

Peppermint is a bushy, well-branched plant, known for its oval leaves with a strong flavor. It is widely used in cooking, herbal medicine, and in the production of spirits. Versatile and perennial, it adds a refreshing flavor to many dishes and preparations.

Maturity: Perennial
Plant height: 50 to 60 cm
Spread: 50 to 60 cm
Formulation: Untreated
Latin name: Mentha x piperita
Companion plants: Broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, pumpkin, squash, turnip, peas, radish, tomato
Negative plants: Carrot, chamomile, cucumber, gherkin, corn

Cultivation method:

Sow peppermint seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost, or directly outdoors after the last frost. Plant in rich, well-drained soil and keep it consistently moist. Peppermint prefers a sunny or partially shaded location. Space the plants 40 to 60 cm apart to allow them to spread. As it can be invasive, it is advisable to grow it in a pot or with a barrier to control its growth. Harvest the leaves as needed, preferably before flowering for optimal flavor.

Add a fragrant and invigorating note to your recipes with peppermint, an essential perennial plant for the garden and the kitchen!
