This heirloom lettuce from the late 1800s, called 'Four Seasons', is perfect for early spring harvests as well as fall and winter crops. It is distinguished by its remarkable cold hardiness. Its beautiful 6-inch butterhead lends itself to reddish-tinged outer leaves, making it one of the most popular variations for early or late season growing.

Cultivation method:

Lettuce is a cool season crop that prefers sunny exposure and well-drained organic soil. Sow seeds as soon as the ground is workable in spring, then transplant every two weeks for a continuous harvest. Plant 3 mm (1/8") deep in rows spaced 45 cm (18") apart.

For optimum growth, maintain regular watering throughout the development period. Harvest by retreating the entire plant or cutting the leaves 2.5 cm (1") above the base to encourage regrowth. For head lettuces, cut the head at the base just below the inner leaves.

A rustic and delicious lettuce!

Quatre Saisons ' Meraviglia' lettuce is ideal for extending the gardening season, offering abundant and tasty harvests, head in cool conditions. A perfect choice for lovers of tender and colorful lettuces.
