'Rossa Di Treviso' chicory is an Italian heirloom variety known for its unique foliage . In summer, its long green leaves transform into a vibrant ruby ??red by fall. ?? The colder the temperatures get, the more its color and taste intensify!

Cultivation method

Sow between June and mid-July in successive crops every two weeks to stagger harvests. Sow 3mm (1/8") deep, spacing seeds 2.5cm (1") apart in rows 40cm (16") apart. When seedlings are well developed, thin to 30cm (12") to ensure good head formation.

For a deeper-coloured autumn harvest , sow between mid and late August .

Water regularly to prevent water stress , which could cause premature bolting and increased bitterness . This variety appreciates well-drained soil and full sun exposure for optimal development.

Culinary use

?? Raw : Thinly sliced ??in salad, accompanied by a drizzle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
?? Braised or roasted : Sublimated in the pan with a touch of honey and parmesan.
?? In Italian cuisine : Added to risottos, pizzas or pasta dishes for a unique flavor contrast.

Why grow 'Rossa Di Treviso'?

?? A cold-resistant chicory, perfect for fall harvests
?? Easy to grow with successive sowings for a prolonged harvest
?? A crunchy texture and a subtly bitter flavor
?? A spectacular visual contrast in the garden and on the plate

An Italian classic that combines elegance, taste and ease of cultivation!
