'Red Cherry' Radish
description
'Red Cherry' radish (Raphanus sativus), offered by the seed company Weston Seeds
The Red Cherry radish is an extra-early heirloom variety producing attractive, round, cherry-red roots with crisp, sweet, and slightly sugary white flesh. Very fast-growing, it retains its flavor for a long time and can be grown both under glass and in open ground. Perfect for successive sowings throughout the season until autumn.
Height: 10 to 15 cm
Spacing: 3 to 5 cm
Sowing: Direct sowing
Exposure: Full sun or partial sun / Partial shade
Quantity per packet: 350 to 400 seeds, untreated, non-GMO
Cultivation method:
Sow directly outdoors as soon as the soil can be worked, placing the seeds shallowly in light, cool, well-drained soil. Water regularly to encourage rapid growth and prevent the roots from becoming fibrous. Thin lightly to maintain a spacing of 3 to 5 cm.
Sow seeds every two weeks for a continuous harvest. Red Cherry radishes are suitable for both spring and autumn sowing.
