Cultivation method:
Sow seeds directly into the ground in June, 6mm (1/4") deep, in rows 60cm (24") apart. Once the plants have emerged, thin them to 20cm (8") to allow them to form nice heads.
For even more tender leaves and reduced bitterness, bundle the inner leaves together, tying the larger outer leaves to the center about 7 to 10 days before harvest. Make sure the outer leaves are completely dry to avoid mold. Maintain regular irrigation to ensure uniform growth.
