'Fiaschetto' tomato (Solanum lycopersicum), offered by the seed company Weston Seeds

The Fiaschetto tomato, an heirloom plum-type variety, produces charming, fleshy, teardrop-shaped fruits with juicy, firm, and deliciously sweet pulp. Their exceptional flavor makes them an ideal choice for both sauces and fresh eating. An indeterminate variety, it offers a generous and consistent yield throughout the season.

Height: 45 to 60 cm
Spacing: 35 to 45 cm
Sowing: Indoor sowing
Exposure: Full sun
Growth type: Indeterminate
Quantity per packet: 200 to 250 seeds, untreated, non-GMO

Cultivation method:

Sow indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost, lightly covering the seeds in warm, well-draining potting soil. Maintain a temperature of 22 to 24°C (72 to 75°F) for germination in 5 to 10 days. Transplant the seedlings when the first true leaves appear, providing them with bright light.

Transplant outdoors after the last frost, spacing the plants 35 to 45 cm apart in rich, loose soil. Provide sturdy support, as the indeterminate growth habit produces long stems bearing abundant clusters of fruit. Water regularly at the base and mulch to retain soil moisture.

Fiaschetto impresses with its deep flavor, generous texture and culinary versatility.
