'Monte Carlo' tomato (Solanum lycopersicum), offered by the seed company Weston Seeds

The Monte Carlo tomato is an early and consistent hybrid variety, producing beautiful, nearly round fruits weighing 3 to 4 ounces with a sweet and balanced flavor. Adaptable to a wide range of growing conditions, it performs particularly well in warm, humid climates, both in greenhouses and in open fields. An indeterminate variety, it offers consistent production throughout the season.

Height: 45 to 55 cm
Spacing: 35 to 45 cm
Sowing: Indoor sowing
Exposure: Full sun
Growth type: Indeterminate
Quantity per packet: 200 to 250 seeds, untreated, non-GMO

Cultivation method:

Sow indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost in a light, warm potting mix, covering the seeds with a thin layer of soil. Maintain a temperature of 22 to 24°C for rapid germination in 5 to 10 days. Provide bright light and transplant into individual pots when the first true leaves appear.

Transplant once all risk of frost has passed, spacing the plants 35 to 45 cm apart in fertile, well-drained, and slightly moist soil. Provide sturdy support for the continued growth of this indeterminate variety. Water regularly at the base and mulch to retain moisture, especially in warm climates.

The Monte Carlo is appreciated for its reliability, vigor and ability to produce even under demanding conditions.
