Verbena 'Grandiflora' is a striking, extra early flowering annual with a compact, uniform habit. Cultivation method:

Sow directly outdoors after all risk of frost for flowering in 6-8 weeks from sowing. For an earlier start, sow indoors in early April. Gently press seeds into the soil without covering. Maintain a temperature of 20°C (70°F) for germination in 5-10 days. Grow seedlings under artificial light, then harden off before transplanting outdoors in late May, spacing plants 10cm (4") apart in the garden.

Verbena 'Grandiflora' prefers well-drained soil. It thrives in full sun in cool summer areas and in partial shade (4 to 6 hours of sun) in hot summer areas. After the first bloom, lightly shearing the plants will stimulate a second flush of flowers, extending their summer splendor.
