Wisteria macrostachya ‘Aunt Dee’, commonly known as Kentucky wisteria ‘Aunt Dee’, is a hardy climbing plant renowned for its fragrant blooms and better adaptation to cold climates. Its twining and vigorous habit allows it to elegantly cover pergolas, arbors, and trellises, forming a dense and decorative plant structure. In spring, and sometimes again in summer, it produces long, pendulous clusters of delicately scented lavender-blue flowers, attracting numerous pollinating insects. Its deciduous bright green foliage, composed of elongated leaflets, creates a beautiful screen during the growing season. More resilient than Asian wisterias, Wisteria macrostachya ‘Aunt Dee’ is suitable for northern gardens in full sun, where it offers a spectacular and lasting effect year after year.
