This Spanish onion impresses with its spectacular size, reaching up to 2.27 kg and 20 cm in diameter. Seeds can be started indoors in February in a soilless medium and transplanted in spring. Sow directly outdoors from mid-April, 8-15mm deep and 15mm apart, in rows 30cm apart. Thin to 12.5cm to allow bulbs to fully develop. Onions prefer a sunny location with fertile, well-drained soil. Bend flower stalks to focus energy on bulb formation. Germination takes 6-12 days.
