Organic 'Chioggia Guardsmark' beetroot
Organic 'Chioggia Guardsmark' beetroot (Beta vulgaris), offered by the seed company Aimers
This improved heirloom variety produces flattened, globe-shaped roots, prized for their stunning and highly decorative purple and white interior zoning. The medium-green foliage forms a vigorous clump, while the root offers tender flesh with a sweet flavor enhanced by a subtle peppery note. More uniform than the traditional Chioggia, it ensures a reliable and consistent harvest, with edible tops as well.
