Corylus avellana 'Red Majestic' is a very original ornamental shrub, appreciated for its spectacular contorted habit and deep purple foliage. A decorative selection of the common hazel, it stands out for its strongly twisted branches, particularly remarkable in winter when the bare structure is highlighted. In spring, its young purple-red leaves and pendulous catkins add significant visual interest, before gradually turning greenish-purple in summer.
