Cotoneaster acutifolia is a robust ornamental shrub widely used for informal or formal hedges thanks to its dense habit and high tolerance to difficult conditions. It forms an upright, well-branched shrubby silhouette, ideal for screens, background plantings, and structured landscape designs. Its glossy dark green deciduous foliage turns orange-yellow to reddish in the fall, adding significant seasonal interest. In spring, it produces small, discreet but melliferous white flowers, followed in autumn by purplish-black fruits appreciated by wildlife. Very hardy and perfectly adapted to Quebec's cold climates, Cotoneaster acutifolia is known for its resistance, ease of maintenance, and ability to thrive in a wide variety of soils.
