description

Kuroda carrot ( Daucus carota ), offered by seed company Northern Wildflowers, is an heirloom variety prized for its sweetness and firm texture.

Suitable for vegetable gardens, this carrot matures in 90 to 100 days, producing thick, sweet roots that are perfect for salads, soups, stews and cooked dishes. Its thin leaves and white umbel flowers also add a decorative touch to the garden.

Spread: 10 to 15 cm between plants
Plant height: 30 to 120 cm (1 to 4 feet)
Quantity per pack: Approximately 600 seeds
Companion plants: Onion, leek, radish
Enemy plants: Dill, celery

Growing Tips:

Sow directly into the ground as soon as the ground is workable in spring. Plant the seeds 1 cm deep and space the rows 30 cm apart. Keep the soil moist to encourage regular germination. Thin the plants to 10 cm to allow optimal root development. Harvest when the carrots reach their ideal size, to fully enjoy their sweetness and firmness.

The availability of our seeds varies depending on seasonal availability, production schedules and supplier inventory. Certain varieties may only be offered for a limited time based on their natural growth cycle, sowing period or available stock. These product pages are designed to help and inspire gardeners in choosing the right seeds for vegetable gardens, flower beds, pollinator gardens, container growing, naturalization projects and sustainable outdoor spaces.
