Seeds can be sown indoors in February in a soilless growing medium and transplanted in spring. Sow directly outdoors from mid-April, 8-15mm deep, with 15mm spacing between seeds in rows 30cm apart. Thin to 5cm for cooking onions or 7.5cm for sweet Spanish types. Maintain regular irrigation for best quality. Bend flower stalks to direct the plant's energy to the bulb. One packet will sow about 6m of row. Germination in 10-14 days.
