The 'Tiana F1' butternut squash is a high-performance hybrid variety, renowned for its bright orange flesh , creamy texture , and sweet, mild flavor . Farming method
Soak the seeds for a maximum of 24 hours in lukewarm water and scarify to promote germination.
Start sowing indoors 3 to 4 weeks before the last frost. Transplant outdoors in late May or early June , when the soil temperature reaches 25°C .
Sow at a depth of 2.5 cm (1″) .
Spacing: 38–45 cm between plants and 60–90 cm between rows.
Install in full sun (level 3) with regular but moderate watering (level 2).
Germination in 7 to 10 days between 21 and 35 °C (optimal 27–35 °C).
Harvesting and preservation
Harvest when the color is rich and uniform , and the skin resists the nail . The soil stain should be creamy yellow to orange .
Leave 2″ of stem to prevent rot.
Ripen the fruit in a dry, warm place before storing.
Store at 10–12 °C , with 55–75% humidity and good ventilation.
