The 'Hakurei F1' turnip is an exceptionally tender Japanese variety with smooth, juicy white flesh , prized for its sweet and fruity flavor . Its flat, uniform roots mature very quickly , just after radishes, making it ideal for early and successive harvests. Delicious raw , in crisp slices, or lightly cooked , it retains an incomparable buttery texture. The dark green leaves , also edible, enrich soups, stir-fries, and green salads. Frost-tolerant, it can be harvested late in the autumn and retains its delicate texture. Perfect for cool-season gardens.

Farming method
Soak the seeds for up to 12 hours in lukewarm water to speed up germination. Sow 2 cm deep throughout the season, with optimal germination in autumn . Provide partial sun/partial shade (level 2) and generous watering (level 3). Space plants 15 cm apart and rows 45 to 60 cm apart. Germination occurs in 3 to 10 days at temperatures between 10 and 21°C .
Harvesting and preservation
Harvest just before frost for maximum sweetness . Cut off the tops for storage. Store the roots at 0°C and 95% humidity with good ventilation: they can be kept for up to 5 months .
The tops are edible and can be eaten like young leafy vegetables.
