Space plants 15–20 cm apart and rows 30–35 cm apart. Germination takes 14–21 days at 12–15 °C . Plant in full sun (level 3) with minimal watering (level 1), in well-drained soil.

Harvesting and preservation

Harvest the flowers while they are still very fresh for ornamental use—they don't last long in a vase. The seed pods can be collected for their seeds or for floral arrangements. Leave a few flowers in place to encourage natural self-seeding , which is essential for this heirloom annual.
