Sow indoors 6 to 8 weeks before planting time, about 1 cm deep in warm potting soil. Maintain a temperature of 27–31°C to optimize germination, which occurs in 7 to 21 days. Harden off seedlings to 18–19°C before transplanting outdoors once all risk of frost has passed. Provide full sun (level 3) and moderate watering (level 2). Space plants 30–45 cm apart, with 45–60 cm between rows. Compact plants do not usually require staking unless under exceptional load.
Harvesting and preservation
Harvest the first fruits as soon as they reach a suitable size to encourage continuous production . Peppers can be harvested green or orange depending on the desired flavor. Store them at 10-12°C with high humidity to preserve their freshness and firmness.
