Cultivation method
The snapdragon 'Rainbow Mix' thrives in well-drained soil , with exposure to full sun or partial shade . It tolerates cool temperatures well , which prolongs its flowering until the first frost.
- Cold stratify seeds for 2 weeks before sowing.
- Sow indoors 8 to 10 weeks before the last frost , without covering the seeds, as they require light to germinate .
- Maintain a temperature of 12°C and use vermiculite to avoid excessive humidity.
- Germination in 10 to 21 days .
- Transplant into the ground after the last frost, spacing plants 6-12" (15-30cm) apart and rows 12-18" (30-45cm) apart .
- Remove faded flowers regularly to encourage continued flowering.
